Banking (beta)

Four banks offer special services to gold card holders, including custom credit cards and easier access to accounts. Feel free to contact these banks directly with any questions about their offerings:

As part of the “2030 Bilingual Policy,” the Taiwan government has encouraged local banks to establish bilingual branches in order to create a more foreigner friendly financial service environment. The “One-Stop” Banking Service has been set up by these Taiwan banks to offer a range of services when a foreign national opens a bank account in person. By presenting two forms of identification (i.e. passport, and either an Employment Gold Card or an Alien Resident Certificate), one can get the services including the application for an ATM card, a credit card, online banking access, both NTD and foreign currency accounts, pre-designated accounts for international transfers, an increased limit for foreign exchange transactions, and the convenience of online booking for One-Stop Banking Service appointments. Currently, there are five banks with a total of 172 branches in Taiwan that offer such services.

Real Estate Agents

The government department responsible for the rental property market has provided the below list of real estate agents that have staff that speak English, Japanese, Spanish or other foreign languages.

Medical Resource Services

Taipei Hospital , Ministry of Health and Welfare, provides comprehensive multilingual services including registration, consultation, payment, and medication pick-up. The available languages are Mandarin, Taiwanese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, German, Filipino, and Indonesian. If individuals from any country require assistance, they can inquire at the service counter where relevant personnel will be present to provide on-site assistance.

The National Immigration Agency provides counseling services of daily needs and life adaption for foreigners and new residents in Taiwan. The services include visa, residence, work, education, culture, tax, health insurance, transportation, employment, healthcare, personal safety, parenting, welfare services, legal information, and other daily life information. Chinese, English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Cambodian language services are available. Please refer to HERE .
