Banking

Currently, there are four state-owned banks in Taiwan that offer special financial services for Gold Card holders, including issuing credit cards and providing a more convenient account opening process. These four banks are

In addition to the aforementioned four banks, there are over 20 other banks in Taiwan, with nearly 1,000 branches offering bilingual services, including sign language and multiple foreign languages. Moreover, to meet the financial needs of most foreign professionals in Taiwan and to enhance their banking experience, the Taiwan Employment Gold Card Office, in collaboration with the National Development Council and the Financial Supervisory Commission, launched the “One-Stop English Banking Services” in 2023. The goal is to allow foreign customers to simultaneously open foreign currency accounts, apply for ATM cards and credit cards, access online banking, and set up designated accounts for international money transfers, all while opening a TWD account. The government department responsible for the rental property market has provided the below list of real estate agents that have staff that speak English, Japanese, Spanish or other foreign languages.

Medical Resource Services

Taipei Hospital , Ministry of Health and Welfare, provides comprehensive multilingual services including registration, consultation, payment, and medication pick-up. The available languages are Mandarin, Taiwanese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, German, Filipino, and Indonesian. If individuals from any country require assistance, they can inquire at the service counter where relevant personnel will be present to provide on-site assistance.

Foreigners In Taiwan Hotline: 1990

The National Immigration Agency provides counseling services of daily needs and life adaption for foreigners and new residents in Taiwan. The services include visa, residence, work, education, culture, tax, health insurance, transportation, employment, healthcare, personal safety, parenting, welfare services, legal information, and other daily life information. Chinese, English, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, and Cambodian language services are available. Please refer to HERE .
