Staff Product Test Engineer
The Staff Product Test Engineer (PTE) will lead and approve the release-to-manufacturing of FT solutions at OSATs for the MP of MEMS and ASIC products.
The PTE, who will work closely with the ENG team responsible for the development of the FT, will provide guidance on the deliverables required for the approval and release to OSAT (test cost, tester and OSAT, test limits, yield, GRR, bench-to-ATE correlation)
This position plays a pivotal role in the testing phase of product development, from NPI to mass production. The responsibilities span technical leadership, project management, team management, and cross-functional collaboration. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations - Asia and expected to work a 40hrs per week.
RESPONSIBILITY & DUTY
- Test Program Release
- Define ENG requirements spec (ERS), e.g. test coverage, test time, and cost
- Release test program to MP (correlation, yield, stability..)
- Deploy test solutions at OSAT and own the bring-up
- Maintain test program release process and regression testing
- Manage tester/prober sourcing and consignment requirements at OSAT
- MP Ownership
- MP data analysis to drive improvements
- Data driven to inform ENG/vendor improvements
- Validate test program changes and deployment
- Debug deployment issues
- Own field quality metrics and resolve RMA
- Disposition based on results (scrap/hold/rework)
- Drive OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) improvement and cost reduction
- Data Analysis
- Set up production data systems (e.g. Galaxy) for yield monitoring
- Build infrastructure for parametric trends, yield paretos, corner analysis
- Generate control charts and early warning systems
- Support MEMS wafer map analysis and release decision
- X-functional Interface
- Work closely with ENG to validate test program
- Translate MP reality back to ENG team
- Manage OSAT test-related issue
- Define and enforce LAT (Lot Acceptance Testing)

- Experience with timing devices, MEMS experience as a plus.
- Familiar with Chroma 3680, Teradyne ETS-88, or Advantest 93k
- Previous startup or small company experience
- Located in or willing to relocate to Asia

- Comfortable with confrontation, drive internal and external negotiations ( acceptance criteria with ENG team, limits and yield definition with OSAT,..)
- Proficiency in data analysis and coding (JMP, Python, Matlab,..)
- Familiarity with quality tools (8D, fishbone, 5 Whys, PPAP, and PFMEA)
- Ability to work across different time zones.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Experience with both single-part tester and wafer-level FT (CSP, CoW)
- Experience with FT temp. calibration (cold, room, hot)
- Experience with 2-dies component (MEMS+ASIC)
- Experience with multiple package (ceramic, CSP..)
- Experience with timing/frequency/oscillator testing
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Hybrid, both remote and on-site
SUCCESS LIKE
- Test programs release to production without crisis
- Urgent OSAT calls get resolved without waking engineering
- Yield improved quarterly
- RMAs receive prompt root cause analysis
- ENG and operations share data and collaborate effectively
REALITY CHECK This is a hands-on role in a startup. You’ll write code, review data at midnight, and argue about test limits. If you want process and structure, this isn’t it. If you want to build the test operation from scratch and own the results, this is your role.
- Ability to work effectively across different time zones.
- Familiarity with the ETS-88 is a plus.
